Floral Watercolour Painting | Flower Wall Decor, 'Flowers in the Wild' by Rebecca Cch.

Painted on an A4 sized watercolour board that withstands layers of colour washes, I painted these flowers with the use of the wet-on-wet painting technique; while the background was still wet, I quickly worked my way into adding some soft colours for my flowers.The wet-on-wet technique allowed the colours of the background to meld with the colours of the flowers, creating a soft and undefined boundary between the background and the flowers. A big part of my style is painting in a way where the subject and background are not always clearly defined and separated. I think that this creates an interesting visual outcome of soft edges, loose boundaries. 

In nature, flowers in the wild have their freedom to grown freely, and are unrestrained by space, and are spared the human touch. Similarly, these flowers here were painted in a way that some branches are upright while some branches are angled differently, reminiscing how flowers grow towards optimal conditions (sunlight, temperature, humidity, etc).
